Pinecrest Park is located on the corner of Santa Marguerita Parkway and Pinecrest in Mission Viejo, CA.  Nearby major cross streets are Santa Marguerita Parkway and Marguerite Parkway.  It’s best to park on Pinecrest, walk down the park’s main entrance sidewalk (the “Fidel Trail”) and continue to the back of the park where you’ll access a dirt path called.  You’ll note openings toward the creek along the way to the back end of the park.  Be sure to investigate these areas as well (some images below).

I’ve created a modified snippet of a Google Map highlighting the entrance point of the park and other areas to explore below.

I’d also recommend canvasing along the Oso Creek where rarities such as the Gray Cat Bird have been spotted as well as more common species such as the Phainopepla or migrants such as the Warbling Vireo.

There’s typically good birding any time of year here and yes, even in February where you’re likely to find Fox Sparrrows and the Hermit Thrush.
