For anyone that may be interested in locating the Vermilion Flycatcher in Stanwood, WA here is a google map image with markings of today’s late afternoon sighting [post 3pm on 12/8/18]. The red lines are the areas to be cautionary as previously posted by others.
The bird was seen further south near where the green Park lettering is at the bend in the road onto Leque earlier today and prior. After 3pm the flycatcher was seen by others (not myself) in the yellow marking area. I’d recommend if you don’t see the species near the corner of Leque and 98th to walk due north where the yellow markings are on this map. I too met a few of the locals today, they were pleasant and one had asked the reason for the visitors. The dike is private property. No parking signs are also posted as you make your way on 98 NW off 532.
