Horned Lark and Steller’s Jay added to the Photo Gallery on July 19, 2015

After a short excursion just outside Orange County last week, I felt it important for local birders and vacationers to know what’s just outside our Orange County border. One example presented here is the Steller’s Jay.  These images were taken on July 11, 2015 in the Mount Baldy area.

Also added to the photo gallery are the seemingly scarce (though not rare) Horned Lark.  Two known areas this species can be found are the Bolsa Chica walk bridge in Huntington Beach.  Walk just over the bridge and behind the fence.  They can also be found in Orchard Hills in Irvine.  Click the MAP link above each photo within the Horned Lark section.  Photos of both the make and female are included.
