A late afternoon visit to El Toro Memorial Park (El Toro Cemetery) turned up 4 Varied Thrushes as the back end of the park. Also, a small cluster of Lark Sparrows were located at the north end of the park. A checklist can be found HERE for January 18, 2015 at this location. A close up photo of one Varied Thrush can be seen below as well as the Merlin at the very top of a pine tree.
At Village Pond Park in Lake Forest the Mew Gull continues and after numerous attempts persistence paid off with the appearance of the Greater White-fronted Goose. A pair was found at the south end of the pond amongst Canada Geese. A checklist for this location can be found HERE
