A late afternoon visit around 2:30pm to the Wilderness Glen park offered a total of two female Purple Finches at the very end of the trail closest to Trabuco Road and Los Alisos. I happened to note quite a bit of activity near the Oak Trees closest to where the creek is located. There was a narrower dirt trail that veered off the main trail. It was a these GPS coordinates (33°37’56” N 117°39’51” W) that the two female Purple Finches were seen (photo below).
Around 3;30pm I head to the El Toro Memorial Park cemetery in hopes of getting another view of the Zone-tailed Hawk I had previously seen on December 19, 2014 but no such luck. However, a large amount of Varied Thrushes were found at the back end of the cemetery – a total of 12 to be exact around 4pm.
