Upon entering the trail this morning, October 17, 2014, there was quite a bit of activity right at the onset of this 1.65 mile journey. The sun was obscured by clouds and there was an array of birds with plenty of insects for all. The towering eucalyptus trees and backlit leaves made it difficult to get a handle on 1 or 2 species though the majority of sightings were recorded.

Of interesting note was the Hutton’s Vireo in which since my first visit in November of 2011, this species has not be located until now.
