Photo note:\u00a0 this species is next to impossible to locate.\u00a0 There have been times whereby here in southern California especially at the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine, I’d heard their calls at two different locations Ponds 3 and 4 but two hours proved to be fruitless.\u00a0 I was able to record their Song\/Call and have uploaded them to Xeno-Canto.\u00a0 They can be heard here Marsh Wren Call 1<\/a> and here Marsh Wren Call 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Harsh lighting, shadows, size of the bird and the density of their habitat made this one difficult task.\u00a0 Out of patience and and determination I was able to nab several photos in June 2014 at Oso Flaco Lake in central California.\u00a0 This photo section clearly shows the bird in proper light, various angles and offers good visibility into its ID markings.<\/p>\n
