As of September 29th, 2015, Laguna Niguel Regional Park has spiked recently with several new arrivals.\u00a0 Over the past 2 weeks a Blackpoll Warbler, Tennessee Warbler, Virginia’s Warbler, Prothonotary Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, an American Redstart (1st year) and a Least Flycatcher have all been properly documented and recorded by a variety of notable birders.<\/p>\n

I was able to find and locate quite a few of these as shown below.<\/p>\n

In addition, a rarely seen American Oystercatcher (pacific \/ frazeri) appeared in Newport Beach and was seen on various jetty’s over the course of a week.\u00a0 Last recorded sighting in Orange County was 2004.\u00a0 A photo is included below.\u00a0 San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary also offered a few more rarities since the sighting of the Dickcissel, Painted Bunting and Bobolink.<\/p>\n

I was able to visit both the Newport Beach and San Joaquin location on September 22 and document these sightings as well.<\/p>\n
