A fairly spectacular afternoon at Bolsa Chica Wetlands today with 58 species in all.\u00a0 I had started out at the walk bridge off Pacific Coast Highway around 1pm and within the first few minutes had seen the Ridgeway’s Rail, Common Loon and American Bittern.\u00a0 About 30 minutes later I ran into Jeff Bray and we proceeded to locate the Black Scoter first seen yesterday.\u00a0 As we made our journey toward Warner Ave via the back end of the walk bridge, we had also noted quite a few Eared Grebes, Brants, Red-breasted Mergansers and various other waterfowl (see my eBird checklist for November 21, 2014<\/a>)<\/p>\n
