A visit to the reservoir at approximately 2:30 pm today was intriguing.\u00a0 The reservoir had an abundance of waterfowl.\u00a0 Numerous American Wigeons, American Coots, Mallards, Northern Shovelers, Spotted Sandpipers and a variety of others filled the water pool.\u00a0 An appearance by a White-tailed Kite, approximately 20 American Pipits, Rock Wren and a host of Turkey Vultures made for an interesting afternoon.<\/p>\n

The closing sunset turned from golden yellow to a pinkish blue moments before disappearing below the horizon.\u00a0 Photos of today’s journey are below along with an eBird list<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This White-tailed Kite flew, kited and landed numerous times over the course of an hour about 100 yards from the shoreline.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

As I stood on a mound observing 2 Killdeer above the reservoir, this Rock Wren appears out of nowhere and begins to draw my attention to its presence. It began making circles as I stood still. I verbally began to make a soft whistle like call in which the Wren seemed to enjoy. This Rock Wren ultimately got within a foot of where I was standing and continuously observed my stature for several minutes. I personally found this most endearing.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n
