This view of the Hermit Thrush offers a few key ID points. Note the whitish eye ring as compared with the Swainson’s Thrush which is more tawny. The Swainson’s Thrush offers a more consistent russet brown across the entire back to the tail whereas you can see the grayish and russet brown blend across the back and down to the tail on this Hermit Thrush.
